X FACTOR!!!

Watch out Simon, Katy's gonna show you what's what!
My sweet friend Katy, a voice teacher in Amarillo, is spreading her wings this week! She is trying out for Simon Cowell, of American Idol fame, new tv show The X Factor. I am so impressed by her talent and her bravery. You couldn't pay me a million dollars to do this! So, tomorrow we head to the convention center in downtown Dallas to wait in line to register. I must be a good friend because we will be getting in line bright and early at 6 am! I'm bringing my camera in order to document this experience so i will do updates with photos.

In reading through the regulations, we came across the Do Not Bring List...
My top favorites are: No tents.
No air mattresses.
This is the best one: No swords of any kind forged or carved from any of the middle or modern ages.
Obviously, this has been an issue in the past.

Have I said how excited I am? I am so stinkin' excited! I am totally living vicariously through Katy.

Time to head to dinner at Papadoux so I must go...

For the last 2 days I have done only what was necessary. I got up took kids to school, went back to bed, got up picked up kids, went back to bed, got up made dinner went back to bed. I bet I slept approximately 26-27 hours between Tuesday and Wednesday. This is so frustrating! Tuesday was a pain filled day and yesterday I was just exhausted from the stinking pain of Tuesday. I even got up and went to my scheduled work out yesterday afternoon hoping it would help. Nope. Instead, I came home and promptly went to bed. There's an oil for that...

You know in the Bible where it talks about anointing with oil for healing of physical ailments? To be specific: Mark 6:13 and James 5:14 are just a couple of them. Anyway...turns out, it's true. I know, imagine that. I have a good friend who has been singing the praises of essential oils for about a year now and all the amazing things she and her family have experienced because of them. ** Here's where I'm going to reveal my prideful, know-it-all, ugly self. It's not pretty and I like to pretend that I do not have this in me but I do. ** I was truly happy that she and her family were having such great results like not getting sick as often as before, no one has needed antibiotics for infections and they are getting real relief from allergies. New Year ~ New Me

After my ileostomy procedure in September I had one good month until symptoms of Ulceritive Colitis set in again. My surgeon decided it was time to remove the remaining part of my rectum and the surgery was set for December 13, 2011. This was supposed to be a fairly short 3 day hospital stay and an easier surgery than the ileostomy... supposed to be anyway... Going in for surgery the morning of December 13th is the last clear thing I remember, the rest is a hazy combination of what I've been told happened and my own drug induced memory.  Surgery went well and with out complication. My doc found my rectum to be in horrible shape, completely eaten up with the UC. No wonder I was in so much pain! So he removed the rectum and proceeded to close up the surgical site and  send me to recovery. Here is where things took a wrong turn. I do not remember waking up in recovery at all.
